Rumors surfaced earlier claiming that the iPhone 5 would come with NFC support. But unfortunately, the latest information indicates the iPhone 5 will not include NFC technology. NFC has been implemented on a number of smart phones, such as the Google Nexus S, therefore Apple was expected to include NFC on its next-gen iPhone.
But the latest info from a few UK mobile networks, who were told in a recent meeting with Apple, that the NFC technology would not be coming to the next-gen iPhone. The reason behind is it has no clear standard governing it and most likely there will be a fight until one that really takes off.
However, Apple is still believed to be incorporating NFC payment technology into iTunes but it’s very likely to be available for 2012 iPhone.
