Olympus has announced the world’s first camera that is able to survive up to 100kg of crush force, called the Olympus TOUGH TG-810. This new Olympus digital camera is meant to take a serious beating. And it can survive many tortures of the harshest or most adventurous environments, being waterproof up to 10m, shockproof from a height of 2m and freezeproof down to -10 degree Celsius.
The Olympus TOUGH TG-810 also packs a 3-sensor GPS and a built-in electronic compass, as well as a built-in manometer that keeps user aware of the pressure while they’re diving.
The super rugged Olympus camera also packs decent specs for taking pictures or videos, featuring a 14 megapixel, 5x wide optical zoom (28mm-140mm equivalent) lens, a 3D shooting mode, 720p HD video recording capability, face detection, underwater scene modes, shadow adjustment technology and many more. The TOUGH TG-810 should hit the shelves sometime in April 2011 for $400 each.
