OCZ has launched its Vertex 3 SSD which is dubbed to boast the highest sequential read and write speeds and highest IOs ratings in the industry. The new Vertex 3 SSD is meant for PC and enterprise applications and is equipped with 6Gbps SATA interface.
The Vertex 3 doubles the performance of its predecessor, the Vertex 2 and is rated for 2 million hours mean time between failure (MTBF). The new Vertex 3 SSD is based on SF-2200 SSD processor from Milpitas, Calif.-based SandForce, allowing it to have read and write speeds of 550MBps and 500MBps respectively, and up to 60,000 IOs per second (IOPS).
