Lenovo unveils 6 new notebooks based on Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors

Lenovo has unveiled 6 new ThinkPad notebooks based on the Intel’s Sandy Bridge series of Core and Core vPro processors. The new Lenovo notebooks are the T420s, T420, T520, L420, L520 and W520 models which all come with improved battery life and are best for business users for long-hour operations.

The T420 model boasts a battery life of up to 15 hours with a standard nine-cell battery, and you can boost the battery life up to 30 hours by adding a second nine-cell battery. But of course, the downside is it’ll add more weight to the notebook.

The T420s offers a smaller 6-cell battery which is already good for up to 10 hours of use. All the T- and W-series make use of the NVIDIA’s Optimus technology, which automatically switches between integrated and discrete graphic components, depending on the types of applications, to prolong battery life.

These Lenovo notebooks also come with separate microphone modes for private chat and conference calls. They also feature noise canceling technology that will reduce keyboard noise or help focus on a single voice.

The Lenovo T, W and L series all use the same docking station and the batteries can be swapped between different models. They also offer a number of enterprise features including encrypted hard drives, remote management capabilities and fingerprint scanners for authentication. All the six models of the Lenovo notebooks will ship in March with base prices at somewhere from $719 to $1,329.
