Panasonic has announced its first gesture-controlled TV which allows you to control the TV by simply waving your hands, instead of having to use a remote control or touch any buttons. The Panasonic’s gesture-controlled TV is equipped with motion sensors which are able to detect your hand gestures. Such as you just need to wave to the left or right in front of the TV (if you’re 5-10cm away) to change channels.
You can also wave your hand to the upper right corner to increase the volume, while waving to upper left corner is meant for lowering the volume. The gesture-controlled TV is best used by cooking mom, especially while she’s watching the web-connected TV, so she can simply wave her hands to switch to her favorite recipe site run by Panasonic.
The first model of the Panasonic gesture-controlled TV is VIERA DMP-HV200, which is a portable, waterproof 10.1-inch ?-Si TFT LCD TV with multiple tuners for Japanese TV. The screen offers a resolution of 1,024×600 and is equipped with WiFi, an SDXC card slot and a USB 2.0 port. And it also comes with a remote control, just in case you’re tried of waving your hands. Apparently, the Panasonic gesture-controlled TV is meant for the Japan market which will start selling in Japan on March 18 for $640 each
