
Logitech wants to gain some market share of enterprise video conferencing, which has been dominated by Cisco products. Logitech now tap on the large user base of iDevices in business, going to enable video conferencing on the iPhone or iPad using their LifeSize Video Center device.
The Logitech’s LifeSize Video Center allows for sending live and streaming video including training sessions and company meetings to employees. The video conferencing on the iPad or iPhone, depends on web streaming service, which just needs a little tweak of some software to recognize the iDevices on the stream and adjust the bit rate for them.
Currently, the app supports only one-way video conferencing. Users will need to buy a LifeSize endpoint such as the LifeSize 220, in order for them to be on camera. Having teleconferencing or video conferencing for business users, allowing them to reduce the frequencies of having to travel aboard, thus reduce traveling costs as well as home sickness.
