There are a number of translation applications available for the iPhone, but nothing has come as simple as the Japan Goggles, which works simply like a point and shoot, allowing you to translate texts on the move.
Japan Goggles was created by a former student of Japanese, Iulian Florea, who wanted a simpler way to translate Kanji characters on the go.
The app simply allows you to point the iPhone’s camera to some Japanese or Chinese characters, and it’ll then get the definition of the word without needing an Internet connection. A clip is included showing how the Japanese Goggles work. A Chinese version of this app, offered by LucSens, is available for free download on iTunes.
