The HTC Flyer tablet has been announced at MWC. The device is a 7-inc tablet that runs Android 2.4 on a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor and supports HSPA+ (near 4G) connectivity for high-speed data usage. The HTC Flyer tablet was announced by HTC with no price, indicating it’d be available sometime in Q2 of 2011. Fortunately, the tablet has been spotted on Amazon.de with a price of 669 Euros or around $904 USD, giving you some idea how much it’ll cost when it reaches the stores near you.
The 660 Euros is the pre-order price tag which includes the Germany’s Value Added Tax, so the HTC Flyer tablet will cost cheaper when it gets released later which could be somewhere around $750. The price tag definitely sounds too deep in order for it to be competitive, some more the HTC Flyer does not have a dual-core processor ad Android Honeycomb found on other tablets such as Motorola Xoom and LG Optimus Pad.
But there some goodies that you should consider on the HTC Flyer, including its integration with the OnLive Cloud gaming, the new HTC Watch video download service, and the “Scribe” stylus input capability. And it also has the possibility to be upgraded to the Android Honeycomb shortly. Hopefully, there will be a WiFi-only version that will cost much less.
