The INQ Cloud Touch Facebook phone has been confirmed after INQ executive Andrew Bennet demoed the handset to TechCrunch, although Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg and his team might still be denying the rumors about this handset.
The INQ Cloud Touch handset shows the tight integration with Facebook, allowing the users to receive streams of Facebook news feeds and status updates for their “top friends” on its home screen. All these can be shown using widgets on the phone’s home screen.
The INQ handset has had a number of speculations before. It’s based on Android OS with a Facebook layer. The four main applications are Facebook People, Events, Notifications, and Places logos, which should be what Facebook users are familar with. It also extracts as much as information from Facebook’s OpenGraph, allowing it to populate the phone’s IM contact list, address and phone book, calendar etc.
There will also be a QWERTY model of this handset, which is called ING Cloud Q and still in development. Both the INQ Cloud Touch and Cloud Q will be launching in the UK sometime in May while the launch date for the US is still unknown. Watch the clip below for the demo
