Plextor has a new series of solid state drive to be launched next month, which is known as the Plextor M2S. The Plextor M2D series SSD offers impressive read and write speeds of 480MB/s and 330MB/s respectively. The Plextor M2S SSD packs a Marvell 88SS9174 controller, 128MB DDR3 cache memory, MLC NAND Flash chips and is equipped with 6Gbps SATA interface, allowing for maximum transfer speeds.

The 256GB version of the M2S SSD offers the above-said read and write speeds. While the 128GB and 64GB have lower speeds at at 420/210 MB/s and 370/110 MB/s for read and write respectively.
The M2S SSD is also housed in aluminum chassis which lets heat dissipate more easily. Unfortunately, there is no info about the pricing or availability of the Plextor M2D series SSDs.
