
Japanese telecommunication company, Nakayo is prepping an IP home phone that comes integrated with a 7-inch Android tablet. The device has not been named yet. It allows you to pick up the handset to speak and you can make a handsfree call by pressing a button on the display of the tablet. The tablet can be taken out, allowing you to speak into its mic while walking around.
This IP home phone supports the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and runs Android 2.2 OS. The Android tablet can be used independently like any other Android tablets such as using it as a web browsing device and video calls.
The tablet will also offer WiFi, a display with a resolution of 800×480, a USB port, a 0.3-megapixel CMOS camera, and a microSDHC slot that supports up to 32GB. The device will be rolled out in Japan from July 2011 and targeting at business sectors. The company aims to sell 30,000 units within 2 years. No indication whether the device will be available for other countries.
