You want large storage capacity as well as speeds? Buffalo has a new external hard drive that should suit your taste. Called the Buffalo HD-LBV3.0TU3, it offers storage capacity as much as 3TB and USB 3.0 connectivity that allows for super high speeds of data transfer up to 5Gbps.
The drive also features silicone padding inside which protects it from shock. It needs to be connected to an external DC power source, measures 39 x 123 x 189 mm and weighs 1kg.
Another interesting feature, it’s been designed with power saving in mind, which allows for the reduction of power consumption down to only 1.6W from the usual 18W, thanks to the bundled ecoManager software, which spins down the drive while idling. The Buffalo 3TV USB 3.0 external drive will reach the Japanese market later this month for about $320 each. No indication when it’ll reach other markets.
