Sanyo has a new ultra short-throw projector called PLC-WL2503. What makes the new Sanyo projector stand out from other short-throw projectors is it allows you to interact with the projected surface. The projector has a camera module located on the front of projector which is able to detect the location of the included IR transmitter-equipped pen used by the presenter when they press on the projected surface.
The position of the IR pen is sent back to the PC via a USB connection on the projector, allowing the presenter to interact with what’s being presented. The PLC-WL2503 projector offers ultra short projection distance, which is able to project an image of 80-inch and XGA (1280×800) resolution from a distance of just 34 inches from a wall.
The projector is suitable for use in small room, some more it also allows the presenter to stand in front of the projection without being affected by the blinding beam. The projector also offers brightness of 2,500 lumens allowing it to project a bright image at short distance to a wall.
The Sanyo projector also features networking for remote monitoring and operation, an on/off switch for ease of powering it on when it’s plugged in. It’ll be available late January for a pretty expensive price tag of $1,700.
