Samsung has achieved a pretty good sales figure for its Samsung S5230 aka Samsung Star, with 30 million units shipped, after its launch back in March 2009. Now the company is ready for an upgrade for this handset, going to release the second version of the Samsung Star which is known as Samsung Star II.
The Samsung Star II is a full-touch device that will come integrated with apps for social networking services and with greater flexibility of personalization. While compared to the original Star, the Samsung Star II offers extra features including WiFi and capacitive touchscreen display. The rest of the features remain the same as what the Samsung Star has.
Currently, there is no pricing information for the Samsung Star II but the handset is expected to hit shelves in Germany next month. It’ll then be headed to the rest of Europe and Asia afterwards but no indication whether when it’ll reach the US. And some more, US has been filled with smart phones that cost only $200 with a 2-year contract, it’ll be kind of hard for feature phones like the Samsung II to take off in the States.
