Motorola has high hopes for its Xoom tablet and has ordered 800,000 units to ship in Q1 2011. The company will first ship the WiFi-only Xoom tablet first in April 2011. Motorola has placed ordered from its suppliers, with four color models that make up the 700,000 to 800,000 units, and suppliers are expecting the total orders of the Xoom to reach 1 million in Q1 2011.
According to Latin America Motorola exec Maurizio Angelone, the WiFi-only Xoom will reach Argentina in April 2011, while the 3G version will come in a month later. But it’s unclear if the WiFi-only Xoom tablet will reach the US in April as well. Anyway, Verizon has promised that the Xoom 3G will be out sometime in Q1 2011.
