Sanyo has a rugged phone known as Taho which has been launched on Sprint. The Sanyo Taho comes in clamshell form factor, it’s not only rugged but it’s also waterproof which can be submerged in water to a depth of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.

Gigabyte has an Android 2.2 Froyo handset, known as Gsmart Rola, which will be launched by the company soon. The Gsmart Rola offers dual SIM capability and is a mid to entry-level smartphone that has a 3.2-inch WQVGA resistive touchscreen display.

The latest version of Nimbuzz, 2.0.2 has been made available for your Android phone. The Nimbuzz 2.0.2 offers up to HD quality voice calls on your Android device. The Nimbuzz relies on a new peer-to-peer calling system and combines with HD voice codec from Global IP Solutions (GIPS) to enable HD voice calls on Android.

A number of companies have been aggressively improving their 3D display technologies. What they’re working on are no further than 3D displays that require no 3D glasses. Except Toshiba, which wants to be more advanced in 3D display technology. It’s now working on a new 3D display which is not only glasses-free but is able to adjust itself to follow the viewing angle of the viewer.

Samsung has released the first NFC (Near Field Communication) smartphone for the Korea market, which is known as the Samsung SHW-A170K. The NFC feature of this phone allows you to make basic payments of purchases via the “SHOW Touch” NFC services, which will be available at counters at subways, buses, taxis and convenience stores.
