
Samsung Mobile Display will show off their next-gen AMOLED displays at CES 2011 next week. One of these AMOLED displays is a 19-inch qFHA transparent AMOLED prototype, which is great for PC monitors and TVs.
The transparent 19-inch AMOLED shows at least 30% transparency regardless whether it’s turned on or off. It is able to provide highest resolution on transparent large screen TV (19-inch) or monitor display. The 19-inch transparent AMOLED can be applied on windows, such as allowing the user to watch TV on windows or backseat passengers to watch video on the car windows.

Samsung will also show off a smaller AMOLED display which is a 4.5-inch qFHD transparent AMOLED that can be used for notebooks. The 4.5-inch AMOLED display measures only 2mm thick and offers a resolution of WVGA 800 x 480. The 4.5-inch display is flexible enough to be rolled down to a one centimeter radius. It also offers four times the resolution of the previous most flexible AMOLED prototype in the industry. More info will be disclosed at CES.
