In the sci-fi movies, you’ve seen that 3D Holographic image of a person can be projected in front of another person, so they can have conversation with full facial expressions and body movements. But it seems that the technology isn’t too far from today, as a recent survey conducted by IBM over 3,000 researchers, has indicated that the 3D Holographic video calls will be made possible on cellphones by 2015.
The 3D video calls will be projected from cellphones by the use of pico projector technology, according to the survey. Other than the video calls, there will be some other impressive technologies coming our way in about five years’ time. Such as air-powered batteries that will last 10 times longer; computer programs crunching numbers for real-time traffic and even heat for your homes, generated from computers and data centers etc.
