Since the official announcement of the BlackBerry tablet, PlayBook, there hasn’t been much news about this tablet. But the latest hint from the company, RIM, indicating the release date of the tablet to be before end of first quarter of 2011, i.e. March.
On a Q3 earnings call of RIM last week, the company said that they expected the first revenue impact from PlayBook to be the first quarter of 2011. RIM’s first fiscal quarter starts in March next year which could indicate that the PlayBook would be out sometime in March, April or May. However, a spokeswoman of the company has said the tablet will ship in Q1 of the first calendar year. Therefore, March should be the month that the tablet to start shipping. Hopefully, an official announcement to come soon to back this.
