
LG has unveiled its next-gen 3D display technology known as Film-type Patterned Retarder (FPR) 3D technology. The LG’s new 3D tech is able to deliver a brighter screen with less cross talk and no flickering. Therefore, it allows 3D glasses to be lighter, less bulky, polarized and more curved like regular glasses.
The new LG FPR 3D technology will be made available to a number of manufacturers including Haier, Vizio and Toshiba. You’ll have less eyestrain while viewing on the new 3D panels powered by the LG’s FPR 3D tech.
The new 3D technology is also expected to form all the basis of LG’s immediate 3D display plans. LG will release a full lineup of 3D panels using polarized glasses including a 1080p 47-inch LCD panel that will come to production soon.
There is also a 23-inch monitor and a large 84-inch ultra HD 3D panel (3840×2160) 3D panel to be in its pipeline soon, adopting the new 3D technology.
