iPad 2 to come in February 2011

The next generation of iPad, the iPad 2 is speculated to be arriving end of February 2011. Currently, this is just a speculation but there could be some merit to this according to the habits of Apple.

Apple is known to follow product life cycles very closely. The past has shown that the months of June and September are what having new iPhone and iPod models announced. And iPad was first announced in January this year but it was only available to customers a few months down the road.

So, if this was real, the Apple’s January 2011 keynote would be what the company to confirm the iPad 2 and then followed by a release in February. Digitimes believes that we’ll see Apple iPad 2 within 100 days and the initial number of units to be created will be somewhere between 400K and 500K devices. Sources also indicate that Foxconn plant in Shenchen is where the iPad 2 being manufactured. The iPad 2 is expected to come with new features including the retina display and a front-facing camera that supports FaceTime calls.
