
The Google Nexus S has been announced and the prices and release dates have been confirmed for both US and UK. The Google Nexus S handset is to be released on December 16 and December 20 in the US and UK respectively.
The Google Nexus S carries a price tag of $199 for the locked version which binds you with a 2-year contract. There is also an unlocked version that is priced at a more expensive price tag of $529 and BestBuy US will have exclusive rights to sell the handset in the US.
The Google Nexus S handset will come as free in the UK for those who’re willing to be bound by the 2-year contract that costs £35/month for 24 months. The SIM-free version is more expensive, than the US version, asking for £550.
The Nexus S handset packs a WVGA (480 x 800) Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It’s also powered by a fast 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor and has two cameras built-in. It also has WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, aGPS, microUSB and a 1,500mAH battery. It also includes a built-in gyroscope sensor and supports NFC contactless payment.
