Fon SIMPL simple router creates mass WiFi network for smartphones and tablets, at $49 only

Fon SIMPL is a simple router that’s specially designed for your smartphones or tablets to share the WiFi connection at home or Fon’s global WiFi network, so you can save the minutes or credits on your 3G data plan. The Fon SIMPL also aims to offload the overloaded 3G services in cities, allowing mobile phone or tablet users to tap on WiFi instead of having to get connected over 3G.

Currently, Fon has managed to sell 2 million units of the Fon SIMPL router to leading telcos. And it’s the cheapest WiFi N router out there which is priced at $49 only. The simple device comes with a WAN port, a LAN port and a powerful antenna, allowing better WiFi connection and WPA encryption. It’s also easy to setup, you can get it to run easily right out of the box.

The Fon SIMPL creates two WiFi signals (SSDs), one private and one public, allowing users to safely share their broadband connections in exchange for free WiFi access from other hotspots throughout Fon’s global WiFi network. There are also applications for Android and BlackBerry devices for further functionality that you need on the two types of devices.

Once the user has got the Fon SIMPL from the mobile operator, the user will first connect the SIMPL router with the fixed Internet connection at home or work. After a registration, the user will then have the Fon WiFi access at home and up to 3 million of Fon WiFi spots while on the run.
