The Acer Liquid Metal Android phone is possibly headed for a US release soon. The Acer smartphone had hit the FCC sometime in October, and according to a senior Acer official, they’re currently in the process of evaluating the handset. The handset is a GSM device which means that it’ll be usable on either the AT&T or T-mobile network in the US.
To refresh your memory, the handset is powered by a 800MHz processor that is also found in T-Mobile G2 smartphone. It packs a 3.6-inch 800×480 screen, WiFi, Bluetooth, 5-megapixel camera, GPS and DLNA/uPnP support. The handset will come with the Android 2.2 Froyo OS.
The Acer Liquid Metal has a stainless steel back and is available in silver or brown. It’s currently available in France, will make its way to the UK pretty soon. So, it should be time for a US release too but it’s not yet official, we’ll keep you posted.
