Acer has also announced a new Android smartphone that packs a huge 4.8-inch 1024 x 480 display, trying to outshine other Android phones in the market. The large screen of this Acer Android phone is great for web browsing and movies. The handset packs a fast 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash and 720p HD video recording capability. There is also a 2-megapixel camera on the front for video calls.
It’s currently unknown for what version of Android that the Acer smartphone is running. But the actual launch of the handset will very likely be in 2011 which hints that it’ll have a high chance to get the Android Gingerbread.
The handset also packs WiFi N, HSDPA and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity. It’s also equipped with 6-axis motion sensing. Certainly, the 4.8-inch 1024 x 480 display is best for web browsing, which works almost like your PC while you’re viewing a web page i.e. there isn’t a need to zoom in, or scroll left and right, you just need to scroll up and down as what you do with your PC!. Currently, the device has not been named yet but it’s expected to go on sale sometime in the first half of 2011.
