
Panasonic has added a new micro four-thirds camera in its Lumix line, called the Lumix GF2. This new camera is equipped with the an updated Venus Engine image processor allowing it to reach a maximum ISO of 6400 and take static images and video in HD 1080i and 720p at 60fps.
The GF2 packs the same 12.1-megapixel sensor found on its predecessor Lumix GF1. It’s also equipped with a stereo microphone, but with a lower-spec lens 14mm at f2.5 compared to the GF1′s 20mm f1.7 lens. For recording in 3D, you can make use of the interchangeable 3D lens – LUMIX G 12.5mm / F12 and the recorded 3D on memory card is viewable on a Panasonic VIERA 3DTV with the 3D Image Viewer.
The Panasonic Lumix GF2 is packed in a slim body and has a touchscreen display which is the first in Panasonic’s micro four-thirds cameras. The entire camera measures 112.8 x 67.8 x 32.8 mm and weighs about 475grams (SD Memory Card, Battery, H-FS014042 lens included). It shall be headed to the shelves by January next year but the price is currently unknown.
