Sharp announced its Galapagos e-readers in September and now they’ve also unveiled two new 3D-enabled smartphones which also carry the same name of Sharp Galapagos. Known as the Sharp Galapagos 003SH and 005SH, the main outstanding feature of these two smart phones is they’re equipped with a 3D screen that requires no 3d glasses to view 3D contents.
The Sharp Galapagos 003SH (shown above) features a 3.8-inch 800×480 touchscreen, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, Bluetooth, WiFi, digital TV tuner, a 9.6MP CCD camera with 720p video recording, electronic wallet function and runs Android 2.2 OS. The handset also comes in dimensions of 121×62×12mm and weighs 139g.

The Galapagos 005SH also packs the same 3.8-inch touchscreen and almost the same features. The few differences are the 005SH has an 8MP CMOS camera with 720p video recording, a QWERTY keyboard with 4-way D-pad and a microSDHC card slot that supports to 32GB memory card.
The Galapagos 003SH and 005SH smartphones are to be launched by Japan’s third largest mobile carrier, SoftBank Mobile next month and in February 2011 respectively.
