Sony is prepping a high-end DSLR, known as Sony Alpha A77, which uses translucent mirror technology, similar to what’s found on the previous models, Alpha A33 and A55. Currently, the Alpha A77 is still in its prototype stage and Sony aims to ship it sometime in the middle of 2011.
The Alpha A77 packs a 24-MP crop frame sensor and uses a Bionz processor that is related to the A33 or A55 design. The A77 also supports micro adjustment of AF points, packs capabilities of recording up to full HD video at 30fps and is equipped with a unique electronic view finder.
The Alpha A77 also supports multi-format storage including CF cards, memory sticks and SD cards. It also allows two different types of memory cards to be used at the same time.
