Two new models of MacBook Air had just got announced a few days ago. The smaller of the two new MacBook Air models, packs an 11.6-inch screen and has raised the curiosity of iFixIt, having torn it apart and showing us what’s inside the new MacBook Air.

According to iFixIt, the new 11.6-inch model has had the IR sensor and sleep LED scrapped and been replaced by a USB 2.0 port on the right edge. The battery uses six individual lithium-polymer cells to form a 35-watt-hour battery. The WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity is based on a a Broadcom BCM943224 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip which is also used on the MacBook Pro range.
A Broadcom BCM5976A0K chip is also found at the back of the trackpad, which is believed to handle the multi-touch aspects of the touch panel. More interesting pictures are available on IFixIt.
