HP has finally announced its slate tablet, which is called HP Slate 500. The device first had some information unveiled back in January this year but has just got announced now. The HP Slate 500 is powered by an Intel Atom processor and it runs Windows 7 as the OS instead of Android.
The HP Slate 500 is aimed at business and enterprise users and carrying a pretty expensive price tag of $799. The specs include a 1.86GHz Intel Atom processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB SSD and a 3MP camera at its back. There is also a Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator that allows it to handle full HD 1080p video playback.
The device has a 8.9-inch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and weighs at 1.5lbs or about 0.7kg. The tablet uses an Intel Atom processor that should make it a little slow in performance. But it’s one of those not many Windows 7 tablets out there.
