Dell has also joined a number of launches of the Windows Phone 7 smart phones this week by having announced its Dell Venue Pro smart phone. The Dell handset of course runs Windows Phone 7 as its OS and comes in a slider form factor. But it’s not as well-known as those Samsung or LG WP7 phones, which have always got some leaks before their officials.
In fact the handset was known as Dell Lighting and has now been renamed to Dell Venue Pro. The Dell Venue Pro packs a 4.1-inch AMOLED display, a 5-megapixel camera and a portrait-sliding QWERTY keyboard. The handset is powered by Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, which keeps it power sufficient as a smart phone.
The Dell Venue Pro WP7 phone will go on sale in the US through T-Mobile most likely on November 8th. Those folks in the Europe or UK will have to wait till October 21st. This is not the first time that Dell steps into phone market, they’ve had a number of Android phones before and are also making Android tablets.
