Geohot previously declared that he pulled out from the jailbreak scene. But now he’s back and has brought us good news i.e. the Limera1n iOS 4.1 Jailbreak is released and ready for your download. The Limera1n iOS 4.1 Jailbreak tool allows you to jailbreak a number of iDevices running 4.0-4.1 including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G.
The Limera1n iOS 4.1 Jailbreak uses different exploit from the GreenPois0n jailbreak – the jailbreak tool that the iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team have been working on and is based on the Shatter. The release of Geohot’s Limera1n has also made the two teams to have decided to delay the release of the GreenPois0n. As they do not want Apple to have the chance to patch both exploits before the next iOS release.
Currently, the Limera1n jailbreak works on Windows PC. For the Mac users, you’ll have to wait for it to come later. The Limera1n isn’t that straightforward it involves some complications. This jailbreak tool has been made untethered with the help of Comex.
It also says that Apple TV is jailbreakable using the Limera1n 4.1 although no apps have been released for you to test. The Limera1n is available for download here.
