Verizon has a R2D2 version of the Motorola Droid 2, which will be arriving this Thursday. The R2D2 Droid 2 handset already had some pictures leaked a few months ago before any official announcement. Anyway, the R2D2 Droid 2 is now confirmed to be available at Verizon for the huge fans of Star Wars.
The Verizon’s R2D2 Droid 2 handset will be priced at $249 after a $100 mail-in rebate, which also binds you with a 2-year contract. The handset carries the Star Wars R2D2 look and also comes with a number of accessories including a media dock, wired stereo headsets all packaged in a custom box resembling carbonite.
Of course, the handset is also loaded with R2D2 ringtones and notification sounds and also other R2D2 goodies including an R2-D2 Clock Widget, live wallpapers, a Binoculars App, and The Best of R2-D2 video. Verizon has also confirmed that, you can download the Empire Strikes Back app from the Android market, which is an app that allows you to download more Star Wars apps onto the handset.
