Sharp wants to have more bites of the e-reader market by having announced two new Galapagos e-readers which come in the sizes of 5.5 and 10.8 inches. The 5.5-inch version is meant for mobile users which packs an LCD screen with a resolution of 1024×600. While the 10.8-inch is meant more for home use which packs an HD LCD with a resolution for 1,366×800.
Both devices come equipped with WiFi b/g connectivity and a trackball that makes navigation easier. Sharp also backs these new e-readers with its online cloud-based e-book store which will come with 30,000 newspapers, magazines, and books, and be set to launch in December.
Unfortunately, the Sharp’s new e-readers are meant for the Japanese market only, which have very slim chance for an International release.
