Verizon has previously launched a V Cast app store for BlackBerry smart phones, which is an app store to allow BlackBerry users to get apps, as an alternative to the BlackBerry App world. And now they also have the same plan to launch its V Cast app store for Android 2.2-based smart phones.
Verizon has the intention wanting to do better than what the current Android market is doing. Although Android market has tons of apps for Android smart phones but it also contains lots of junks. And the V Cast Apps of Verizon are meant to clean up the junks and allow developers to submit apps for free but will only publish the apps if they meet the guidelines.
The V Cast App store is expected to launch next week and it’ll be compatible with Android 2.2 smart phones only. Currently, Verizon has only a few of Android 2.2 handsets on its network, which are the Droid 1, Droid 2, Droid X and Incredible. But more information will need to wait till its launch at the Verizon’s developers conference next week. The followings are what Verizon offers to attract developers in:
• Carrier Billing
• 70/30 Revenue Share – 70% Developer / 30% Verizon
• Hands-on, Experienced Content Programming Team.
