Motorola has rolled out a living room remote control that takes the similar form to the TiVo slide, which comes equipped with a QWERTY keyboard. Called the Motorola NYXboard, the remote has a compact QWERTY keyboard at the rear side instead of being a slider. And it’s got a standard cable box remote on the front side.
The remote will be made available by year’s end. But it’ll be up to the cable companies to decide if they want their cable customers to have access to this QWERTY remote. It shall make you productive in controlling your TV set and set-top box, if you’re a heavy texter who’s been so used to the QWERTY of a smartphone.
