Computer geeks should be familiar with the term RAID, which having RAID configurations for your hard drives allow you to have redundancy of drives and data that minimizes failure. The St. Dupont’s watch also borrows the term RAID for its Service Without Fail RAID watch which may mislead you to think the watch has some redundancy of components to keep it always running without fail.
In fact, the St. Dupont’s watch has been inspired by the special French Police section, known as RAID, which stands for Research, Assistance, Intervention and Deterrence. The St. Dupont’s RAID watch should be out very soon as a limited edition.
The watch hands and numbers are large enough which make it easily viewable even under low-light conditions. It’s housed in a gunmetal/black casing, has a 44mm wide dial and is water resistant up to 300m. The mixture of white, green, red and black used on the dial makes the watch interesting. The red is the GMT hand as well as the 24 hour scale.
Only 500 pieces of the RAID watch are to be released and each costs you a whopping price tag of 3,890 Euros or $4,940 USD.
