
The Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet has been officially announced. The Galaxy Tab runs the Android 2.2 OS and it’ll be ready to go on sale sometime in October. The official specs of the tablet tell that it’s equipped with a 7-inch 1024×600 screen, powered by a Cortex A8 1GHz processor, has 16GB internal memory and is expandable via microSD slot for up to 32GB.
The Galaxy Tab tablet has two cameras, one is at the back with 3-megapixel resolution and LED lamp. And the other is a front camera with 1.3 megapixels which is meant for video calling. The device weighs 380 grams and measures 19 x 12 cm. The Galaxy Tab tablet is useful for accessing the web, watching movies, reading e-books, phone calls and GPS navigation.
It’s equipped with 3G connectivity with 7.2Mbps download and 5.76Mbps upload and WiFi with higher speed of wireless N. It supports various video formats including DivX, Xvid, WMV and MPEG-4. It’ll also come loaded with a number of applications including Layar augmented reality app and Swype which allows faster text input and continuous finger motions across the touchscreen virtual keyboard.
