Samsung is so kind to its mobile phone users by having included some unlock codes in a file on a few of its smart phones including the AT&T Captivate, T-Mobile Vibrant and the US version of Samsung Galaxy S. With the unlock codes, you can simply free any of the mentioned Samsung smart phones from its intended carrier.
Unfortunately, the unlock codes were first made uneasy to access by Samsung but the XDA developers have come in to help by having released a simple tool, which simply takes a locked Galaxy S family handset and turns it into an unlocked version.
The best is you can get the handset unlocked without having to root it and the process is reversible. But of course, you’ll have to remember that unlocking your handset will leave you the risk of bricking the handset, although reports have shown pretty positive in general.
