A laser backpack has been developed which is a device to be used to scan the interiors and form 3D models of them. This will be useful for making 3D video games. The backpack carries lots of lasers and cameras. And the wearer is able to carry it down to the stairs, halls or even caves, to scan the interiors and generate the required 3D models for making 3D gaming or other 3D applications.
The interior-scanning laser backpack is currently being built by the UC Berkley team. They’re so ambitious that this laser backpack will become super portable one day, like a small pack of sensors attached on your belt. So every one could carry it to scan every location in the universe and having all scanned data plotted on Google or Bing Maps etc. Watch the clip below for more info.
