Diabetic patients will need to have their fingers pricked for measuring the glucose level in their body. If you wanna have tighter control and monitoring of the body sugar level, you’ll have to prick the fingers more frequently, which will cause some inconvenience and pains.
But now some researchers from University of Tokyo and BEANS Research Institute are working on an implantable blood sugar blood sensor, which can be implanted in the patient’s body to ease glucose level measurement and monitoring.
The implantable glucose level sensor will simply glow in different intensity accordingly while the blood sugar level goes up and down. Basically, the implantable blood sugar sensor is made of hydrogel, the jelly-esque material that is implantable in the patient’s body, enabling blood sugar level to be monitored and measured externally without causing pain or irritation to the patients. A clip is included below for more info.
