EKING, the Chinese device maker is working on an ultra portable tablet device, which will pack a 5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The device might not strictly fit into the tablet category as it’s equipped with a slide-out QWERTY.
The EKING device actually runs Windows 7 (although the rendered images show it running Windows XP), instead of the more popular Android OS for tablets. The EKING portable computer will reportedly pack a multi-touch LCD screen, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity. No word on the price or when it’ll be available. No indication if it’ll be available outside of China either.
