Olive Telekom has announced the first 3.5G Android tablet in India. Called the Olive Pad VT100, the device runs Android 2.1 for the time being and packs decent specs including a 7-inch capacitive touch panel with 800 x 480 resolution, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, SD card slot, 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM.
Other goodies on the Olive Android tablet are a 3.5mm headphone jack, mini USB port, 3-megapixel camera and a 3,240mAh battery. It also works as a large smartphone with a front-facing camera for making video calls with voice support. If everything goes as planned, this device will see its launch in India next month for a price around $425 to $530. But the chance of an immediate launch in the US is pretty slim.
Olive Telekom has had a number of successful launches, one of them was the triple-SIM Olive cellphone.
