
Pico projector has found its way to be useful in 3D object scanning. 4D Dynamics has released a 3D scanner called PicoScan that was built based on a pico projector in combination with a Canon 1000D DSLR and a 3D scanning software based on the Mephisto scan engine.
The PicoScan is meant for the users to take photos of objects around and turn those objects into 3D models using the software. The PicoScan is now available on Amazon for a whopping price tag of $2,000.
