Panasonic have released their new point and shoot cameras, the Lumix DMC-LX5, which pack a 10.1 megapixel sensor and are available in two models, DMC-LX5W and DMC-LX5K, where the major difference is their colors, white and black respectively.
The features of the two cameras are the same, except for their colors. Each camera has a 10.1 MP sensor, a F2.0 Leica DC Summicron lens, 3.8x optical zoom, 23-point autofocus, optical image stabilization and face tracking. It also supports an ISO range from 80 to 12,800 and 9-step, 2-axis white balance adjustment.
The Lumix DMC-LX5 cameras are also capable of recording video in half HD 720p at 30fp and the face detection of the cameras supports both video and still images. The cameras read memory cards including SD, SDHC and SDXC. There are also an NTSC AV-output, USB 2.0 and HDMI. Other goodies on the cameras are a 3-inch TFT LCD display, a hot shoe for external flash or EVF and the ability to take up to 5 continuous shots at a rate of 2.5fps. The price has not been announced yet for the time being.
