The Modu 1 phone that we’ve shown you before is now ready for the UK market, arriving later this month. The Modu 1 is claimed to be the world’s lightest phone while it’s detached from its interchangeable case. It comes in dimensions of 72.1 mm x 37.6 mm by 7.8 mm and weighs 45 grams including the 530mAh battery.
Just to refresh your mind. The Modu 1 has been specially designed to keep it as the lightest phone with very minimal functions and is as tiny as a credit card. So you have to let it wear different Modu jackets or cases which each of these jackets carries its own dedicated function. Such as while you need a 3.2-megapixel camera, you have to let it wear the “night jacket”. While the “sports jacket” is good for adding a pedometer with an armband to the phone.
Despite the tiny size, the Modu 1 still packs some native features including a 1.3-inch OLED display, 2GB memory, Bluetooth and MP3 player. The Modu 1 will be launched in the UK with Purelygadgets. The Modu 1 phone will be priced around £129 (around $198 USD) and each Modu jacket will cost around £20 ($31 USD).

Reminded me of the ipod shuffle plus the ability to place calls which is very useful for daily life especially at the gym, etc… IMO, 2GB is good enough for a lot of people even though it seems funny compared to what is available currently. Can have over 100 songs and still half the memory available. It definetely looks like a good deal under $200.
