The diabetics can make use of a free iPhone application that has been made available by AgaMatrix (maker of the Jazz blood glucose meter), to keep track and manage the diabetes ‘scores’ on the iPhone. But until now, there have been some inconvenience which the users need to enter manually the results from the glucose meter into the iPhone app.
But with the announcement of the WaveSense Direct Connect Cable, users can simply connect their iPhone (also iPod Touch or iPad) to the glucose meter and transfer the results directly to the app on the Apple devices. The cable is still pending for the approval from FDA. But once it’s got through this stage, it’ll be available for a price around $25-$30. You can register yourself on AgaMatrix website, which will notify you by email once the cable is available for sale.
