Some offices might want to keep track of the quantity of each employee photocopies a day or a month, in order to prevent any employees from abusing the photocopiers. Or some bosses may wanna keep some statistics to keep the departments in competition of reducing the quantity of photocopying, thus helps keep some running costs lower.
The newly announced Canon photocopier should make it easier for the aforementioned ways of keeping track or logging the usage of the photocopiers. As the photocopier comes with built-in fingerprint scanner which requires each user to scan their finger first before using the machine. So, any abusive actions such as scanning your butt, will be linked to your finger ID. And we believe the system shall allow keeping track of the usage per user.
The new Canon photocopier packs multi functions in a box including photocopy, print, scan and fax, and it’ll be available for sale in Japan for a price of $1,460. But no indication when it’ll hit the rest of the world.
