Perhaps it isn’t a good idea for digital cameras to ship with memory cards loaded with some default software. As Malware can easily slip into the memory cards, which will then infect the computers of the users when they’re transferring the contents from cameras to their computers.

Panasonic outs slimmest and lightest Toughbook F9 14-inch laptop

Panasonic has announced the slimmest and lightest rugged laptop, Toughbook F9 in its line. The Toughbook F9 is the industry’s lightest 14-inch laptop which weighs about 3.6lbs or 1.6kg. This rugged laptop is able to survive a 30-inch drop, 70z spill to its keyboard and 220lbs of compression.

iPad AT&T security breach – vulnerable to spam marketing and malicious hacking

A security breach of the iPad on AT&T network has caused the information of iPad owners exposed, including dozens of CEOs, military officials, and top politicians. The iPad on AT&T could be vulnerable to spam marketing and malicious hacking. The breach lies in the AT&T network, which might have caused about 114,000 user accounts compromised and with some of their confidential information (e.g email) exposed in the US.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G to get Android 2.2 update

Following Google Nexus One and some 2010 HTC phones, the next phone that will get the Android 2.2 Froyo update is the T-Mobile myTouch 3G. The update will also include enhanced Faves Gallery, Genious Button app, and full Exchange support.

LuminAR wireless robotic computer packs a pico projector, camera

The LuminAR is a project of an MID student who has the idea of computers do not have to come in the regular form factors we see today. The LuminAR actually consists of a desk lamp and the LuminAR bulb, which is a wireless computer in tiny form factor. It has a pico projector and a camera and is able to project an interactive interface on any surfaces.

4Home and Marvell introduce SheevaPlug-based energy management system

4Home and Marvel have teamed up and introduced an energy management system that is based on the SheevaPlug computer – a computer comes in the form factor of a power plug and runs Linux, which was introduced by Marvell last year. Although it comes in such a tiny form factor, the SheevaPlug packs a 2GHz Sheeva processor, supports Bluetooth, WiFi and USB 2.0.

Toshiba unveils lightweight STOR.E ALU2 external hard drives

Toshiba has announced a new line of external hard drives called the STOR.E ALU2. These Toshiba external drives are lightweight and available in high storage capacities, including 320GB, 500GB and 640GB for the 2.5-inch model and 500GB, 640GB, 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB for the 3.5-inch model.
