
Cisco is interested in a bite of the tablet market share and has introduced their Android tablet, called the Cisco Cius. The Cisco Cius is capable of making video calls in HD resolution and equipped with a front-facing 30fps 720p video camera and a 5-megapixel for static images.
The Cisco Cius tablet is also equipped with HDMI out, supports WiFi and 3G connectivity and you can purchase an optional dock that adds speakerphone to this Cisco tablet. The Cisco Cius is targeted at corporate clients who want to provide employees a telework presence by using the Cisco tablet that weighs 1.15 lbs only (slightly more than half a kg).
The Cisco Cius is also small enough to fit in any briefcase. It makes your collaboration with your colleagues, clients much easier with various applications including HD video streaming, real-time video, multi-party conferencing, email, messaging, and browser etc. And you can also produce, edit and share content locally or centrally in the cloud.
The Cisco Cius should be ready sometime in 2011 but the price has not been announced yet. But it’s highly expected to be priced below $1,000 making it a possible alternative to laptops and desktop computers for mobile workforce.
